Due to the rich history and the fact that Istanbul has been the capital of three empires with different religions, the city has extraordinary beauty of the cosmopolitan. Each of the empires gave the city its unique architectural masterpieces.

During the Ottoman Empire in front of the Hagia Sophia was built the magnificent mosque of Sultanahmet . which later came to be called Blue because of its interior of blue and white patterns. This is the biggest and one of the most beautiful mosques of Istanbul is recognised as one of the greatest masterpieces of world and Islamic architecture. Continue reading
